Err my bad for inciting an argument? It’s cool if you don’t agree or have a different interpretation.  I like how their personalities work together also. My view is based on the classical elements of their relationship is all.  There’s a lot of literature that has character duos like theirs that are inextricably tied together — they definitely strike me as soulmates, but agreeably not the eros-romantic type as someone said.  So yah, if you only think soulmates are eros-romantic (requiring physical intimacy of course) then no the soulmate view won’t fly.
